Three ways to visit
- Walk it: walkers enter off Mound Ave. and under the train trestle at Park Lane/Woodland Ave. On busy nights the organizer suggests entering from the south, under the trestle. Dogs are not allowed in Sibley Park.
- Drive it: cars enter on Sibley Parkway and follow it around the sledding hill into the park. Vehicles may not enter at the Woodland Ave., Park Lane or Mound Ave. entrances. Inside, there are limited spaces for guests who want to get out and walk.
- Bus it: senior-living and large charter buses must be pre-approved by calling (507) 385-9129 and entering at 708 Mound Ave. A donation of $50-100 per bus is suggested. Limousines and private charters use the Sibley Parkway entrance with other vehicles.
Getting there and parking
- Parking for walkers: the CHS parking lots (off Woodland Ave.), near the ball fields (off Sibley Pkwy.), inside Sibley Park (limited) and on-street spaces near the entrances. Follow the bright blue signs.
- Respect the neighbors: park only in designated lots or allowed street areas. No Parking zones are enforced by Mankato Public Safety.
- Avoid the line: come on a weeknight, or on weekends arrive early or park outside the park and walk in.
- Distances: the organizer publishes no drive times from other cities, so we list none. Use Sibley Park, Mankato in your own map app; downtown Mankato has directional signs for the driving route.
Tips for families
- Santa visits and the parade are the big kid draws; both are listed above with dates.
- Live reindeer are in the farm area near the restrooms.
- Bring cash or canned food for the donation boxes at the entrances.
Hours, parade details and donation information are the organizer’s. We check the Kiwanis Holiday Lights website weekly and update this guide when anything changes. Not announced on the pages we read: ticket-free confirmation of any special nights, and exact reindeer hours.
