How Do You Get The Total Rate?
The department says to combine the state general rate (6.875%) and all applicable local rates (local taxes, special local taxes and special taxes), then apply the total to the taxable sales price.
Where Do You Find A City’s Rate?
Local rates change by quarter. The department publishes a local rate guide effective October 1, 2026, and a rate calculator on its sales tax page.

What We Could Not Verify
- The total for a particular city: we did not read the rate guide row by row, so use it for your location.
- Which items are taxable or exempt: not collected; ask the Department of Revenue.
